Storage FAQs

We thought it would be a good idea for us to share some answers to our most frequently asked questions about storage so here we go!

Where is my nearest Kiwi Self Storage?

You can find all of our locations listed here

When can I access my unit?

You can access your unit between 5am and 11pm, seven days a week. 24hr access is also available on application so have a chat to your local facility about this.

How much does storage cost?

This all depends on the size of the unit that you're looking for. All of our units are at least 2.7m high, which is higher than the ceilings in most houses so you'll be surprised at how much you can fit inside.

How to pay?

We have a number of easy ways to pay at Kiwi Self Storage as follows.

  1. You can provide us with your credit card or bank details and your payments will be automatically deducted each month on the due date. Your credit card or bank details are held securely.
  2. You can set up an auto-pay with your bank and we can provide you with details to do this.
  3. You can pay by Internet banking. For account details and required information please select the facility you are with:

Are my goods covered by your insurance?

No, you will need to organise your own insurance when you decide to store with us. We recommend that you check your household contents insurance first because your items might already be covered when they are away from your home but a lot of insurance policies do not include this. We offer competitively-priced insurance which you can purchase from us when you sign up for storage, it's as easy as ticking a box! If it's worth storing, it's worth insuring

Can I reserve a unit?

Yes, you most certainly can. If you do you may be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit where the numbers of the unit size you require are limited.

When you rent the unit the deposit will be used as part of your first installment. If you do not want to do that we can also put you on a waiting list and let you know when a unit the size you require is available.

All we ask is that if you decide not to store with us, you let us know so that we can offer the unit reserved to someone else.

Please check with your facility.

What is the minimum rental period?

Our minimum rental period is only one month.

How long can I stay?

There's absolutely no limit on how long you can store with us, short-term or long-term. Some of our customers have been with us for years and years.

What do I do when I want to move out?

All we ask for is two weeks' notice when you want to vacate your unit. We will then start the move-out procedure which includes organising a refund for any over-payments and letting any customers who might be looking for a unit that size, know when it will be available.

Hopefully you'll find the answers to any of your other questions on our website but if not, do Contact Us and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
